The Amazing Race Asia 5 is the 5th season of the reality television show, The Amazing Race Asia.

The fifth installment is set to premiere on AXN Asia in 13 October 2016 and promises to be the most adrenaline-fueled season ever. Eleven teams chosen from across the region will compete in a high-octane dash around the world for a chance at the winning crown and USD$100,000 in cash.

Allan Wu will be back for his fifth hosting of The Amazing Race Asia. Wu will be paired up with Tara Basro, an Indonesian film actress in hosting this season.[1]

  • The Amazing Race Asia 5 currently holds the largest gap between seasons (for any version), at six years between this and the previous season.[2]
  • First season to have three all-female teams make it to the final four.
  • Second season to have a pair of show hosts [after The Amazing Race 6 (Latin America)].
  • First time the host did not start the Race (the signal at the Starting Line was given by Indonesia's Deputy Minister of Tourism, Sapta Nirwandar)
  • First time to have both Yield and U-Turn placed in a same leg (Leg 9).
