Marked for Elimination

Beginning in Season 10, a team was Marked for Elimination if they were the last to arrive at the Pit Stop during a non-elimination leg. If they did not arrive at the pit stop first during the following leg, they incurred an immediate 30-minute penalty at the Pit Stop, allowing other teams to check in before them during that time. This was discontinued in Season 12 and replaced by the Speed Bump. It was still used in other versions of the show. In the second season of the second Israeli version, the Marked for Elimination penalty was increased to one hour.

American version

Season 10

• David & Mary arrived last in the fifth leg and first in the sixth leg thereby not incurring a penalty.
• David & Mary again arrived last in the seventh leg. They arrived last in the eighth leg and were eliminated.
• Dustin & Kandice arrived last in the tenth leg. They arrived last in the eleventh leg and were eliminated.

Season 11 (All-Stars)

• Uchenna & Joyce arrived last in the fifth leg. They arrived third in the sixth leg, were assessed the penalty but were not eliminated.
• Joe & Bill arrived last in the seventh leg. They arrived sixth in the eighth leg, were assessed a penalty and eliminated.
• Eric & Danielle arrived fourth in the tenth leg. They arrived third in the eleventh leg, were assessed a penalty but were not eliminated.
• Oswald & Danny arrived last in the eleventh leg. They arrived last in the twelfth leg and were eliminated.

Asian version

Season 2

All teams that were "Marked for Elimination" in this season arrived last in the leg they were intended to be penalized in and were eliminated.

• Edwin & Monica arrived last in the first leg.
• Terri & Henry arrived last in the sixth leg.
• Paula & Natasha arrived last in the ninth leg.

Season 3

• Ida & Tania, who arrived last in the sixth leg and had to relinquish all of their money, again arrived last in the seventh leg. They arrived third in the eighth leg and incurred a 30-minute penalty.
• A.D. & Fuzzie arrived last in the ninth leg. They arrivied last in the tenth leg and were eliminated.

Season 4

• Yani & Nadine arrived last in the first leg. They initially arrived seventh in the second leg, but incurred two penalties: a four-hour penalty for failing to complete the Roadblock and the 30-minute penalty they were supposed to incur for not arriving first, therefore creating a 4.5 (four hours and thirty minutes) hour penalty for them. After two teams checked-in before their penalty ended, they checked-in last and were eliminated.
• Alan & Wendy arrived last in the third leg. They arrived last in the fourth leg and were eliminated.

Israeli version

Season 2

• Tom & Adele arrived last in the fourth leg. They arrived sixth in the fifth leg, were assessed the penalty but were not eliminated.
• Tom & Adele again arrived last in the eleventh leg, came in last in the 12th and were eliminated.
