I Think This Monkey Likes Me is the penultimate episode of The Amazing Race 9.
While racing through Bangkok, Teams face a Roadblock where they must prepare a feast for hundreds of sacred monkeys.
In Thailand, teams make their way to an ancient temple where they find their next clue. Two teams race for the Fast Forward and both are greeted with a gut-wrenching challenge aptly named "Insect Delight." Despite a teammate's encouragement, a physically demanding challenge proves to be too much for one Racer who breaks down.
The order of departure from Lake Bennett Wilderness Resort are as follows:
The Fast Forward instructions were given to them after finding their clue at Prang Sam Yot.
Teams must travel a town outside of Lopburi to try a favorite local after-school activity from a nearby restaurant, dining on a bowl of fried crickets and grasshoppers. When completed, they would win the Fast Forward. BJ & Tyler won the Fast Forward.
The team member assigned to perform this Roadblock would have to assemble a properly-carved and arranged fruit ceremonial feast for monkeys at the temple and give it to them during an annual festival, using a nearby example. When it is finished and offered to the monkeys, they would get their next clue.
The Roadblock performers per team are underlined:
Choice A: Move It
Teams must make their way on foot to the Jom Jam Pottery Factory to transport 72 clay pots through the streets of a market to a docked boat. Teams must balance these clay pots on wooden boards balancing on their shoulders. When the task is completed, a merchant would give their next clue.
Only Joseph & Monica chose this task.
Choice B: Altar It
Teams must make their way by foot to the Wat Chimphi temple and assemble a shrine. Once there, they must completely gold leaf a Buddha statue for the shrine. When it is finished, teams would receive their next clue.
Teams must make their way to the Marble Temple in Bangkok to check in.
For having the envelope (obtained at Prang Sam Yot) with the golden gnome in it, Ray & Yolanda won a cruise around Sydney Harbour, a tour of the Hunter Valley wine district and the Great Barrier Reef provided by Travelocity. In addition, during their rest period, Ray & Yolanda would stay in a luxury hotel room.
