I Hate Chinese Food is the tenth episode of The Amazing Race 17.

The order of departure from Lalbagh Fort are as follows:

1. Jill & Thomas (8:25 am)
2. Nick & Vicki (1:59 pm)
3. Nat & Kat (4:05 pm)
4. Brook & Claire (5:15 pm)

Teams must fly to Hong Kong, China. Upon arrival, teams must travel by bus and ferry to Cheung Po Tsai Cave. Teams must then search the cave to find their next clue.

Teams must travel by ferry to Kowloon and search for the Majesty Chinese Restaurant to find their next clue.

The team member assigned to this Roadblock would have to use chopsticks to search among several plates of food on a buffet for one of five pieces of fake food normally used for display. If the racer picks up a real piece of food, he or she has to eat it before moving on. Once they find the fake food, they will receive their next clue.

Teams must travel by taxi to find Avenue of Stars and search for the Statue of Bruce Lee to find their next clue.

Choice A: Ding Ding
Teams would have to ride the Hong Kong Tramways, colloquially known as the "Ding Ding", looking for three signs that read "Pit Stop", "Statue", and "Square" to reveal the location of the Pit Stop. If teams were unable to spot all three signs before the tram ends, they would have to ride it again.

None of the teams chose this task.

Choice B: Sampan
Teams would have to travel to the Jumbo Kingdom's dock and take a pair of budgerigars in a birdcage on a sampan, searching Aberdeen Harbour for a boat with the registration number matching the number on their birdcage. They would then trade their birdcage for the location of the Pit Stop.

Brook & Claire, Jill & Thomas, and Nat & Kat chose this task.

Nick & Vicki decided to quit the Detour, both physically exhausted, and take the six hour penalty.

Teams must travel by taxi to Statue Square to check in.

For coming in first place, Nat & Kat won a trip for two to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, provided by Travelocity.

For coming in last place, Nick & Vicki will have to perform a Speed Bump at some point during the next leg of the race.

• This episode marks the first time since "The Unexpected Twist" (from The Amazing Race 1) that a team has quit a Detour.
  • It also reveals that the penalty for quitting a Detour has been reduced from 24 hours to 6 hours.
