Double U-Turn Ahead is the sixth episode of The Amazing Race 29.
Story[]
Several teams come together and target one set of Racers at the double U-turn in Italy.
Route Markers[]
The order of departure from Mount Aksla are as follows:
Since the previous leg was a No-Rest Leg, teams immediately departed from the Pit Stop to continue racing.Teams must fly to Milan, Italy, using provided smartphones to book their flights to Milan on the Travelocity app. Upon arrival, teams must make their way to Piazza Fontana, where they would find their next clue.
"Who's hungry for the next clue?"
The team member assigned to perform this Roadblock must ride the ATMosfera Tram Ristorant dining tram around downtown Milan while searching for three words ("Cernobbio", "Concordia", and "Lago") marked with race colors. During the ride, they would be treated to a two-course meal of parmigiana di melanzane and gnocchi that they must finish before the tram returns to Piazza Fontana. At the end of their ride, they must recite all three words correctly to the conductor to receive their next clue. If they fail to recite all three correct words, they must ride the tram again. Only four racers could ride a single tram at a time.

Teams must make their way to the town of Cernobbio and find the Concordia steamship at the Navigazione Lago di Como, where they would claim departure times the following morning. The first team would depart at 7:00 am, with teams leaving 5 minutes apart. The Concordia would travel over Lake Como overnight to the town of Varenna, where teams would receive their next clue the following morning.
Teams must make their way to Greenway dei Patriarchi, where they would find their next clue.
At Greenway dei Patriarchi, teams would have the option to U-Turn a team, with two slots available. Liz & Michael used the first slot of the U-Turn on Vanck & Ashton. Becca & Floyd attempted to use the second slot of the U-Turn on Liz & Michael, however Liz & Michael already passed the U-Turn before Becca & Floyd, thus having no effect on them. Since Vanck & Ashton completed the Grab a Hold Detour, they would be forced to backtrack and complete the Make a Mold Detour before continuing.
Choice A: Make a Mold
Teams must make their way to Castello di Vezio, where they must make a plaster mold of a ghost, using one member as a base to create the sculpture. Once the plaster solidified to create the figure, they would receive their next clue.
London & Logan and Tara & Joey chose this task.
Choice B: Grab a Hold
Teams must ride a Riva Aquarama to the town of Menaggio, then find L'Angolo Benedetto Castelli, where one member must ascend a 90-foot limestone cliff wall, while their partner belayed the line at the bottom, to retrieve their next clue at the top of the cliff.
Teams must ride a Riva Aquarama to the town of Tremezzo, then make their way to Teresio Olivelli Park to check in.
For coming in first place, Becca & Floyd won a trip for two to Ushuaia, Argentina, provided by Travelocity.
