Don't Talk To Me Like I Was An Animal Or Something is the ninth episode of The Amazing Race: Family Edition.

During a tranquil ride in a hot air balloon, the peace is disturbed when two Teams collide in the air.

Teams are taken aback by one family's outburst and strange behavior on the race. Another family breezes through an otherwise challenging task while the other teams struggle attempting to control the herd of animals. At the mercy of an unpredictable volcano, teams are detained on their way to the Pit Stop.[2]

Route Markers

The order of departure from Lake Powell are as follows:

  1. Linz Family (12:46 am)
  2. Bransen Family (1:23 am)
  3. Godlewski Family (1:30 am)
  4. Weaver Family (5:02 am)

Teams must drive themselves to Park City High School to find their next clue.

Teams would sign up for a departure time on a hot-air balloon. After inflating their balloon, they would ride it 3.3 miles to the landing site, where they would receive their next clue.

Teams must drive themselves to Heber City and find Heber Valley Railway, where they will find their next clue.

Choice A: Spike It
Teams would have to use the provided materials to build a 20 ft section of railway track. Once the track was complete and was deemed safe, teams would receive their next clue.

The Bransen, Godlewski, and Linz Families chose this task.

Choice B: Steam It
Teams would have to fill a locomotive's tender with approximately 400 lbs of coal, using a wheelbarrow and a ladder. Once they had transported enough coal, they would receive their next clue.

Only the Weaver Family chose this task.

Teams must drive themselves to Bonneville Salt Flats and search the area around the Tree of Utah to find their next clue.

Teams must drive themselves to Garden City and find Bear Lake Rendezvous Beach, where they will stay overnight. The order they depart will be based on the order they arrived.

Teams must drive themselves to Big Piney, Wyoming and find Dunham Ranch to search for their next clue.

The two team member assigned to perform this Roadblock would get on horses and would have to herd six cattle from a holding pen to a corral a quarter of a mile away. Once all six cattle were safely in the corral, teams would receive their next clue.

The Roadblock performers per team are underlined:

Teams must drive themselves to Yellowstone National Park and watch Old Faithful erupt. Once they've seen it erupt, a fireman will hand them their next clue.

Teams must drive themselves to Pinto Ranch to meet Phil.

Teams would be handed their next clue from Phil, revealing they were still racing.
