Beacon of Hope is the season finale of The Amazing Race 22.
The order of departure from Niddry Street South are as follows:
Teams must travel by train to the Port of Stranraer, and take a ferry to Belfast, Northern Ireland. Upon arrival at the Port of Belfast, teams must make their way to a nearby warehouse to find a Ford Fiesta. Once they have their car, they can drive themselves to Peatlands Park to find their next clue.
The team member assigned to perform the Roadblock would have to bog snorkel. After donning full snorkeling gear, including complete wet suit and flippers, the racer has to cannonball into a muddy pool, then swim one 100-yard lap in the bog within 4 minutes. When they've finished in time, the bog snorkeling official will award them their next clue.
The Roadblock performers per team are underlined:
Teams must drive themselves to Belfast and find "The Thing With a Ring", having them to figure out it refers to the Beacon of Hope sculpture in Thanksgiving Square, where they will find their next clue.
Choice A: Tray It
Teams would have to go to the drydock at Titanic Quarter where the RMS Titanic was built, where they have to prepare and serve the ship's last five-course dinner to a group of first-class passengers. Using the provided menu as well as a seating chart, teams have to choose the proper dishes for each course from a table full of unmarked plates and serve them to the passengers in the dining room in the drydock. When the waiter is satisfied that each passenger received the correct order for each course of the dinner, the team is allowed to move on to the next course. Once all five courses were served correctly, a Captain Edward Smith impersonator will give them their next clue.
Choice B: Spray It
Teams would have to go to T13 Skatepark where they have to finish half of a graffiti painting using a photograph as reference. When the crew approves of the job, teams will receive their next clue.
Only Caroline & Jennifer chose this task.
The order of departure from Ulster Hall are as follows:
Teams must fly to Washington, District of Columbia, United States. Upon arrival, teams must figure out where Martin Luther King, Jr., gave his famous "I Have a Dream" speech, which was on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial, to receive their next clue.
Teams must travel by taxi to 1100 Pennsylvania Avenue. Once there, they would be escorted by a "Secret Service agent" and were told they are going to have their photograph taken with President Barack Obama. In reality, they are taken to a souvenir photography studio where they posed for a photograph in which their face was superimposed over a photograph of someone else meeting President Obama, where their next clue is located on the back of the photograph.
Teams must travel by taxi to the Tidal Basin where they have to search for a marked car near the paddle boat docks. After knocking on the rear passenger side window three times, the car's occupant will give them a briefcase, containing their next clue.
The team member assigned to perform the Roadblock would have to take the briefcase they received from the marked car, and then find one of fifty "spies" around the Tidal Basin who will respond to their given code phrase with another supplied code phrase (Max & Katie: "Where can I get a good half-smoke with chili?" / "I've heard there's a great place on U Street."; Bates & Anthony: "I did not dress warm enough for this weather." / "Perhaps you would like to borrow my gloves."; Mona & Beth: "The cherry blossoms are beautiful here in April." / "I'll have to bring my mother next spring."). The team member would then swap briefcases with the spy, and the spy would tell them that the combination code to open their new briefcase was their final placements in New Zealand, Indonesia, and Vietnam, with the next clue inside the briefcase.
The Roadblock performers per team are underlined:
Teams must travel by taxi to "The Home of the Nats", Nationals Park, to find their next clue.
One team member has to ride a zip line across the stadium and toss a baseball, while their partner, dressed in a baseball mascot costume, has to try to catch it. Once they successfully catch the ball, they can read it to see it has their next destination on it.
Teams must travel by taxi to Hains Point to find their next clue.
Teams must enter a giant ball pit to find globes marked with the various countries they have visited on the Race. Only one team member is allowed in the pit at one time, with their partner taking the globes passed to them and putting them in the order in which they visited them. Once their order was correct, another globe would open revealing their last clue.
