Choice A: Lock
Teams must make their way to Al-Tamimi Curio Shop, where they must search through a series of artisanal wooden chests for a key with an attached piece of paper depicting an animal. Once they have found a key inside one of the chests' secret compartments, they must use it to open the chest with the lock in the shape of the animal depicted on their key to retrieve their next clue.
Becca & Floyd, Brooke & Scott, Liz & Michael, Matt & Redmond, and Shamir & Sara chose this task.
Choice B: Knock
Teams must search the streets of Stone Town to find three royal doors, all distinguished by a carving of a lion, a serpent, and a falcon. They must knock on each royal door, located at the Arab Fort, the House of Wonders, and along Soko Muhogo Street, to receive a wooden carving. Once they have collected a wooden carving from each location, they may trade them with a nearby shopkeeper at Gizenga Street in exchange for their next clue.
Teams must take a ferry to Dar es Salaam. Once there, teams must make their way to the main office of DASICO Umasida Dispensery, where they would receive their next clue.
The team member assigned to perform this Roadblock must cut, punch, and pound sheet metal into a ladle spoon and handle. Once the ladle is made to the foreman's satisfaction, they would receive their next clue.
The Roadblock performers per team are underlined:
- Becca & Floyd
- Brooke & Scott
- Liz & Michael
- London & Logan
