The race begins at Thean Hou Temple in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Teams must drive to the Batu Caves in Gombak District, Selangor, to find their next clue.

"Who can you count on to deliver?"

The team member assigned to perform this Roadblock must walk up the stairs of the Batu Caves while carrying an offering and counting the number of stairs. Once at the top, they must exchange the offering with a priest and give the correct number of stairs (272) to receive their next clue. If they do not give the correct number, they must walk back down with their offering and try again. The Roadblock performers per team are underlined:

Teams must find the location of "the Pit Stop from Episode 8 of The Amazing Race season 16 USA version", Pinang Peranakan Mansion in George Town, Penang. Once there, they must find Baldwin, which they must figure out is a piano in the mansion with accompanying sheet music. They must sing the song on the sheet music to the tune of "Amazing Grace" to receive their next clue.

Teams must drive to a futsal field in the Gelugor suburb of George Town and take five turns each being a goalkeeper defending the goal against young futsal players to receive their next clue. Teams would incur a two-minute penalty for each goal scored against them before being allowed to proceed.

Teams must drive to Swettenham Pier to find their next clue.

Choice A: Flags
Teams must find five nautical flags hidden around the MS Star Pisces using a clue written in ship lingo, which they must exchange for their next clue.

None of the teams chose this task.

Choice B: Rags
Teams must proceed to the tenth deck of the MS Star Pisces, where one member will be lowered to the fifth deck to clean a window. The other team member must find the window and take a photo of their partner, which they must exchange for their next clue.

All teams chose this task.

Teams must make their way to the twelfth deck of MS Star Pisces and check in.

For coming in first, Khairie & Ethan won a Sony BRAVIA and a PlayStation 3 for each member.

For coming in last, Nadine & Yani are "marked for elimination". If they do not arrive first in the next leg, they would be assessed a 30-minute penalty.
