Allan Wu (Simplified Chinese: 吴振天;pinyin: Wú Zhěntiān) is a Singapore-based Chinese-American actor and MTV Asia VJ who has hosted three versions in The Amazing Race franchise, The Amazing Race Asia, The Amazing Race China Rush, and The Amazing Race China.

He is the only person to have hosted more than one version of the show.

Profile

Allan is a graduate of the University of California-Berkeley but found difficulty in maintaining interest in his course. He eventually discovered his desire to become an actor after an accident made him reassess his life. Blessed with a great physique, he had a stint as a model for the Ford agency. During that time, he participated in an episode of the reality competition series Fear Factor. Taking a chance, he packed up his bags and went to Hong Kong for acting jobs. Despite struggling with limited knowledge of Mandarin and Cantonese, MTV Taiwan gave him a chance and he became one of their VJs. He was even able to co-host a Christmas concert. Acting jobs soon followed as he co-starred in the television drama series Wu Yan De Ai for Singapore's MediaCorp and followed by a role in the romantic comedy film I Do, I Do.

He was married to Singaporean ballerina-actress Wong Li-Lin from 2003-2013 [1] and they have a daughter Sage and son Jonas.[2]

Amazing Race Career

Allan hosted all four seasons of The Amazing Race Asia and the three seasons of The Amazing Race China Rush. He currently hosts The Amazing Race China.

He has made cameo appearance in The Amazing Race 16.
